Fooled Ya!

Well I said yesterday was my last entry for a week but I tricked ya! Mommy had to log in at work for a couple hours so she thought, "Eh? Why not?" I want to tell you about my night.

I had a TERRIBLE night! I slept for a collective 3 hours last night. What is going on? All I know is that there are boxes everywhere and Mommy and Daddy were up late trying to finish packing themselves so I thought last night would be a good night to stay up and cry all night. Mommy relented (pretty early I must say) and brought me into bed where I proceeded to kick and scream and pull hair. I also determined last night that my pacifier was no substitute for the real thing, that being Mommy, and Mommy was so desperate to get me to just sleep for 15 minutes she has callouses now. Sorry, Mommy.

So here are some pictures of me in the morning. We'll pretend they were from this morning, but they were in fact from a couple weeks ago. Hopefully this will hold you all over until I move to Kentucky and get settled. Or who knows? Maybe I'll trick you again.

Love,

Stinka Lilly

Highlights

Today we slept in a little and it felt GOOD! I love sleeping in. Especially when we have so much work to do, which, we have a lot of work to do!

So that being said I am officially signing off the blog for the next week or so. I'm just too busy!

As you probably know, we had a party for Daddy this weekend. Everyone came and trashed the house, but we don't care 'cause we're moving! Now we're packing up all of our boxes and getting ready for the movers who come tomorrow! I think we are about halfway there. We might start to panic this afternoon, we'll see. I won't panic though, so long as Mommy and Daddy don't pack me and my toys I'll be okay.

Here are some pictures highlighting the weekend. Is highlighting a word? Maybe my Uncle Dan will let me know. On second thought, I don't care if it is a word or not. I'm a seven month old baby! I can say what I want and use all the incorrect grammar I want!

That's all for now, folks! Next time you hear from me I will be a Louisvillian!

Love,

Lilly

Introducing...Dr. Daddy!

What a weekend! I don't even know where to start! So much happened this weekend it makes my baby head spin. I will have to get to it all later, because I am seven months old and I have a short attention span.
Since today is THE day I will just for now focus on my Daddy! My Daddy took the Hippopotamus Oath today and became a real Doctor! I am so proud of Daddy! Congratulations, Daddy! You worked real hard, no matter what Mommy says! I realize this day changes the whole dynamic of your marriage to Mommy because now she can't tease you about being a mere career student, you are a Doctor! You will actually be making some money now. Does this mean Mommy can't go to Janie & Jack and buy me expensive baby dresses because you will have some say now that you are bringing home some bacon? I hope not. I know Mommy is creative and will come up with some good reason to spend too much money on me, no matter who brings home the bacon.
Daddy, you are more educated than Mommy will ever be (but Mommy says that doesn't necessarily make you smarter, or wittier, she has to keep you in check somehow, that's why you married her, so you don't develop a Doctor Ego). But Daddy, I digress. I was so proud of you today I stayed quiet for the whole two-hour ceremony, and when Mommy started to cry when you got your diploma, I pulled her hair and then I licked her shoulder. After that, I just wanted you to hold me.
Congratulations Dr. Daddy! I love you sooooo much!
XOXOXOXO
Love,
Lilly
P.S. Grampa and Grammy, we really missed you. But Grampa, you need to take it easy and get better. That way you'll have no excuses when I graduate, you will be there! I know it seems far away but I hear preschool just flies by! I love you, Grampa! Feel better.

Timber!

Me New Casa!

Check it out! Daddy went down for the inspection today and it went fine except for some little things here and there. Daddy had a minor panic attack when he realized just how much work Mommy has in store for him with this new house. That's my Mommy for you!

Have a happy holiday weekend!

Love,
Lilly

P.S. If you have specific picture requests from my 6-month shoot post them here or email Mommy. Mommy has lots and lots (like over 80) wallet pictures and 5x7's. Just lemme know what ya want and I'll deliver!

Out takes!

Hello everyone,

You've probably noticed I've updated my blog every day for the past week or so. That's because my Grampa has been checking and I want to give him some news every day and some pictures to keep his spirits up so he can feel better and get back up and at 'em! But things are starting to get super busy for little me right now so I might not be able to keep this up! But bear with me for the next couple weeks!

Mommy and Daddy found another - BETTER, CHEAPER! - house in Louisville and we are trying to close on it May 30. Are we crazy or what? Daddy goes down for the inspection tomorrow. This house's basement has been professionally waterproofed already and you know what that means to Mommy and Daddy! It's such a cute house! I will post pictures when I can. It is a great house for me, there are lots of hiding places! It will be so fun to play hide and seek!

This weekend is my Daddy's graduation party. Way to go, Daddy! You are finally out of school and you are 31 years old! Will you pay for me to spend that much time in school? You won't? You'll be too busy still paying off your own student loans? Man! Why wasn't I born into a family with an attending for a Daddy?! Silly Mommy and Daddy, marrying for love and not money. Crazy.

I got my pictures taken today! You'll all be getting several beautiful photos of me not smiling. Because that's what I do! I don't smile for the camera. AT ALL! Here are some cute bloopers of my photo shoot today. I guess there's no baby modeling in my future. I just don't have the temperament for it. I'm too much of a baby diva.

Ciao folks!

Love,

Lilly

Today Is My Birthday! Lucky Seven Months!

Today is my birthday! Na na na na na na! Tomorrow I'm going to the photographer to get my 6 month pictures taken. Yep, I said 6 month pictures, and I'm 7 months old. That's an improvement over my 3 month pictures, which I finally got taken when I was 4 1/2 months old. Mommy has been a little preoccupied lately, what with all the stuff going on. Six months, seven months, eh...it's all good. Either way I'm cute as a button!
I didn't get a cupcake today, just some more sweet potatoes. I like to grab the spoon when Mommy is feeding me and today I had fun trying to feed Mommy! For real! Look, see? Mommy pretended to eat and it made me giggle. You should see some of the goofy stuff Mommy and Daddy do to make me giggle. Two grown 30-somethings acting like idiots just to get a little laugh out of me. It's so great. I own them. I own you, Mommy!

And I own you, too, Silly Reader! Bwaaaa-ha-ha-ha!

Love,

Lilly

I Want to Grow Up to Be Just Like Daddy!

I love my Daddy. I look just like him, see? I don't have a beard, and hopefully I never will. It looks good on Daddy but that's because he's a boy. We were out hangin' in the 'hood, with the neighbors, kickin' it you know and I like to grab whatever Daddy has and try for myself. I got my first taste of beer bottle! Don't worry, there wasn't any beer in it. Mommy says no alcohol until I start teething.
These pictures are pretty cute, so I thought I'd share with you all. Mommy checked our reader reports and there are about 15 of you who regularly check my blog. I'm not in this for the money, but it's nice to know I have a following. A small, cult following if you will. Isn't that what family is?
We put an offer on a new (better!) house today! Keep your fingers crossed for us!
Love,
Lilly

Going...going...

Gone!

I was real tired today. I must have had a busy, busy day at my nanny-sitter's house! Daddy is a real force majeur when it comes to feeding me. He is all, "Come on, Lilly! One more bite! One more bite!" I try so hard to please my Daddy so I think to myself, "Okay, sure why not one more bite?" I like to take the spoon myself and I gave it the real college effort tonight, but...it just wasn't working out for me.

Zzzz...

Good night!

Love,

Lilly

Batter Up!

I went to my first Reds game today and I did it high class. It was employee appreciation day at Mommy's work so we got free tickets to the Batter's Eye box in center field. Which that was a good thing because even though it was sunny outside it was still chilly and windy. So we got to enjoy the first half of the game behind glass eating our free Montgomery Inn BBQ and Daddy drinking free beer.

After a while I bundled up and we went on to the party deck for the rest of the game. While there I saw this crazy dude:

Turns out he is the mascot for the Cleveland Indians, not the Cincinnati Reds, but how was Mommy supposed to know that except by looking at his shirt, which all she saw was a big purple photo opportunity. There were people yelling obscenities at Mr. Purple until we went for our photo and as soon as we walked away the obscenties started again. At least people were nice enough not to swear and cuss at me, and smart enough not to do it to Mommy because in case you didn't know this, Mommy has a mouth on her and loves the opportunity to exercise it.

The Reds actually won this game which is exciting. Someone hit a homerun and we were standing right by the smokestacks whent they did it and fireworks started going off right above my head! It was so loud but I didn't even cry!

When I move to Louisville I'll get to go see the Louisville Bats play. They are a minor league team and just maybe I'll get to see them play Austin Gallagher's team and then I can get an autograph and my picture taken with him. He was in love with Teti, who knows, maybe he still is? I'm sure once he sees me he'll fall in love with me. Sorry, Teti.

Love,

Lilly

P.S. I love you, Grampa! Feel better! One day you can teach me how to throw a baseball, like a boy!

Don't Blame Me...

TGIF, right? Uncle Mark is currently partying with Kordell Stewart and Shannon Sharpe. Man, Uncle Mark is living the life! I'm sure there's some kind of festival for Uncle Dan in New Orleans. Mommy is at home watching "What Not to Wear" on TLC and finishing off a bottle of $3 Trader Joe's Merlot by herself. I am actually in bed sleeping. But yet, I am blogging. Hmmm...I'm confused.

Today Mommy and Daddy found me a Nanny. "Nanny" might be a little misleading but Mommy likes the way it sounds better than "Babysitter." Anyway, my new Nanny-sitter is Miss Norma Jean and she does NOT mess around. Miss Norma runs a tighter ship than Mommy has ever seen. If she weren't such a caricature of herself, she'd be a little scary. I'm pretty excited, there are 5 boys and 1 other little girl and then me! There is Miss Norma and Miss Marva. They are sisters. And they are SERIOUS about being Nanny-sitters. I think I'll be happy there, it will be a LOT different from what I'm used to but Mommy and Daddy think they can learn something from her. She is like a drill sergeant. But don't worry, if she was REALLY scary Mommy would never take me there. Mommy and Daddy really think I'll learn a lot from her and that Miss Norma and Miss Marva will love me lots. After all, I will be the cutest baby there. What's not to love?

Wow, wine really makes Mommy ramble. Let's get to the point of my post!

I am learning how to drink from my Tummy Tippy cup! See?! I am doing really good with my big girl food. Sweet potatoes are my favorite. I have not had the Duda's sweet potatoes yet. But once I do there is probably no going back. Duda makes his sweet potatoes with lots of brown sugar, marshmallows and raisins. Mmmm...yummy. Anyway, I digress. Here I am with my Tummy Tippy cup. Very good.

And, evidently I have readers outside of my family. Hi Ashley! Mommy tells me she doesn't understand why you and Uncle Mark just don't get it over with yet. I mean, she really likes you, and you really like Uncle Mark, soooo....? (Oh no, Mommy. You're letting the wine talk now). It's been a really long week. I better go before I say something embarassing. Can't wait to see you at my first Clemson game this fall!

Love,

Lilly

Some Days Just Aren't Great Days...

Sometimes you just want to crawl under the covers and stay in bed. Today was a hard day. Grampa had surgery today, he's probably not going to be feeling very good for a little while. But everything went well so far so keep my Grampa in your prayers. I want him to stick around for a really long while so he can bail me out when I get arrested in college for underage drinking just like my Daddy did.
Wait a second! I won't do that! I will take after Mommy who was too smart to ever get caught. Ha ha ha, Daddy.
Grampa, I love you. Feel better.
Today we lost the house in Kentucky. Well, we didn't lose it, but it wasn't meant to be. Mommy drove down for the inspection and took a swim in the basement. Been there, done that! So now we've got to start over at square one! But that house just must not have been the right house, and that's okay. We'll find the right one.
Finally, we are very worried about Tori. She has started spraying again. Mommy called the vet and the vet said we have to make a very tough decision. Mommy has cried about this all night. This and everything else. I know what she feels like. Sometimes I just need a good cry too, and when I do, I usually get some hugs and kisses and eventually fall asleep. And tomorrow, tomorrow will be better because we've gone through the worst of it for now. Until we decide what we're going to do with poor Tori.

So anyway, sorry to be a drag. Just send us good vibes, and send Grampa your prayers and good wishes. Things will work out, they always do.

Love,

Lilly

Say Uncle!

I have the BEST uncles! Mama wants to give props for a second to Uncle Mark. Uncle Mark is a party animal and he is really living the dream. Mommy gets a little jealous now and then because Uncle Mark has so much fun being irresponsible. I mean, wait, I mean YOUNG. He has so much fun being young and single. But Mommy had her fun too, believe you me.

Anyway Mommy came home today and had a package and it was from Uncle Mark! It was such a surprise. Inside Uncle Mark wrote Mommy a card so nice she got a little teary-eyed. It's okay, I hugged her and she calmed down. He sent her a nice Mother's Day gift to help her sleep (good luck with that, Mommy!) and look! He sent ME a HAT! It's the cutest thing ever! Let me cheese it up for you.

Mommy also wants to thank my Uncle Dan for calling her on Mother's Day. She did not expect that at all! It was so thoughtful of him.

Last but not least my Teti made Mommy a present for Mother's Day. Mommy couldn't believe all the love and attention she got all by virtue of having me! It almost doesn't seem right, I mean, I am a gift to Mommy every single day and Mommy really means it when she says every day is "Mother's" day. Talk about cheesin'!

Thank you Uncles and Teti (and Tia for the nice card)!

Love,
Lilly

P.S. In case you were wondering, Daddy got Mommy a beautiful bouquet of Stargazer Lillies. Lucky Daddy, he has a built-in present idea every year for Mother's Day for the rest of Mommy's life!

Happy Mother's Day!

Tomorrow is my Mommy's first Mother's Day. She has joined the ranks of lots of wonderful, amazing, and inspiring women before her and now, all those things she used to take for granted from Mommys she has a whole new world of appreciation for. Mommy never once since I've been born and probably never again will question the purpose and meaning of her life, she was made to be a Mommy and nothing will make her happier. She has my Daddy, and she has me. And life is soooooo good.

Besides my own Mommy there are four other very important Mommys in my life, my GrandMommys and my Tia!

I have my Babi. Babi secretly hopes I give Mommy as much heartache as she gave her, but that won't happen. I'm a perfect little angel and probably always will be. But everything my Mommy knows about being a Mommy she learned from her Mommy, my Babi, and my Babi's Mommy, Mommy's Babi. And now, Mommy gets it! And Mommy really, REALLY appreciates my Babi and all that she went through. Thank you, Babi, for being a wonderful Mommy!

I have my Grandma. Just like my Babi she had four kids. She is also known as Crazy Jane, and if you've ever met my Uncles Maurer, you know why! Any Mommy who raises those three boys (and a girl) is bound to go crazy! But let me tell you something about my Grandma: she is amazing! She is always happy and keeps an open mind and loves to try new things! She always kept an open mind with my Mommy and made Mommy feel like a part of this crazy family even before she was. For me, it was a birthright. Thank you, Grandma, for being a wonderful Mommy!

I have my Grammy. Grammy has Grandma experience and Grammy really came through for Mommy in ways Mommy and Daddy wouldn't have even imagined when I was born and they'll never forget it! My Grammy is awesome! She always knows just the right things to say to Mommy to make her feel better when she's panicking (which Mommy tends to do), over reacting (maybe) or maybe just a little emotional (she can be that way), and just every normal day. Thank you, Grammy, for being a wonderful Mommy!

Last but not least I want to give a shout out to Tia Natalia! It's her first Mother's Day too, happy Mother's Day, Tia!

I love ALL the Mommys in my life. I am a lucky, lucky little girl. Happy Mother's Day to Mommys everywhere!

Love,

Lilly

Get Your Lilly Fix Here!

Babi needs a Lilly fix and since she's the only person who reads my blog, so let's give'r one!

I have a runny nose today. I was also a little cranky so I took a time out with Mommy. If there's something better than this, I don't know what it is...

So after my little break I was all smiles again like this:
Then I played with my favorite toy, which is my bucket. I don't like it when there are things IN my bucket, I like my bucket empty and I like to talk to it. Who knows why? I'm six months old, here I am with my bucket:Please excuse the dribble.

And after playtime I had my bath. My hair is getting long (and blonde of all things) and I'm almost mohawk material, as such:

And just to remind you, this is what I looked like 6 months ago, just a couple weeks after I was born:

Don't blink!
Love,
Lilly
