We're So Far Behind We Thought We Were First!

Only 4 posts this month?!  That's terrible!  We're so far behind, we thought we were first (Yep!  We borrowed that line from Mommy's cousin's blog which has been discontinued, so now it's fair game!)  We are getting ready to go on our cottage vacation in a couple days so we will be WAY out of commission (like way, way, waaaaay...)  Hard to believe when we get back we will only be one week away from preschool (eek!) and almost to college football season (yes! yes!  YES!!)  This summer has sure gone fast but it's been a great one so far.
Anna, my sweet, psycho Anna is really coming into herself.  She is such a sass!  And it's funny despite the fact that it's really borderline frightening at times.  Mommy tries to grab the camera to record those Anna moments but she knows it's coming and stops what she's doing and says, "Lemme see!"  Ham.  She's also forming whole, complete (though mostly indecipherable) sentences.  It's awesome, she's not even 2 and a half yet!  And the girl really knows what she wants and who she is (I'M ANNA!)  Mommy always says no one will ever mess with me because they'll have to go through Anna, and HOW.  Sometimes not even Mommy and Daddy want to mess with Anna.
That's right, that sweet Angel baby you see...  "ME DO IT!  ME DO IT!!  ME DO IT!!!"  Aaah...the terrible two's.  And then the "Tantrum Threes."  The "Fiendish Fours"...the "Fucking Teenage Years."  (Had to!  Had to put that one in there, courtesy of Duda, still makes Mommy laugh out loud).  The things we have to look forward to.  Mommy is pretty lucky that Boots (the fetus in utero formerly known as Colors is now referred to as Boots) lucky Boots is a boy.  Because by the time we all three get to high school and it's Boots' turn, Mommy and Daddy aren't going to give a shit what he does or when he comes home or any of that and they both think they're probably better off that he's a boy.
Anyway, Mommy sure does digress but that's what happens when you're six months pregnant with your third kid and it's 130 degrees outside with 217% humidity.  You tend to forget what you're talking about...you also tend to react violently to seemingly innocuous questions such as, "How are you feeling?" (Let me tell you how Mommy is REALLY FEELING - no, wait, on second thought, guess!)
So anyway July flew by and here we are, almost to August, almost time for vacation, getting closer and closer to adding another mouth to feed (and butt to clean) and life is good.  Dammit.  Life is GREAT.

Anna Sings the Sleeping Beauty Song...

I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream...

Out of the Mouths of These Babes...

Mama had a funny weekend with us.  We are hilarious.  Here are a few things we had to say this weekend, we'll post some pictures in the next day or two...

Mama trying on a new maternity dress she just received in the mail says, "Do you girls like this dress?"
Anna: "I like it."
Mama: "I like it, too."
Lilly, exasperated, says: "You like it and Anna likes it but I DON'T like it.  I don't even know what color it is."
Note: It is "Pebble Gray" - do YOU like it?

On the bus on our way to a Summer Festival Mama says, "Lilly stay seated please."
Lilly, "Why?"
Daddy says, "Because if you don't we might hit a bump and you could fall down and crack your head open." (A little dramatic, yes, but you have to be when you're dealing with royalty such as Princess Lilly)
Lilly says, "Oh no, if I fall down on the bus and crack my head, I will be a crack head!"

Mommy says to Anna, "ANNA!  ANNNNAAA!!!  If you don't do XYZ by the time I count to 3 you are going to TIME OUT, little Lady!"
Anna looks Mommy straight in the eye and says, "Can I go to time out now, please?"
At least she said Please.  And yes, she went to time out.  As you imagine, she learned a lot from the experience.

Lilly to Anna while playing with dolls, "ANNA!  ANNNAAAA!!!  Did you hear me?  You need to LISTEN to me when I talk!"
Anna says, "Why?"
Lilly says, "Because I said so!"
Sounds like a familiar conversation, one that gets repeated in our house about 50 times a day (and likely in your house, too)

Have a GREAT week!
Love,
Lilly and Anna

Tea Time, Anyone?

Last weekend we went to an all-girls fabulous tea party with Babi and Grandma!
We got to choose from over 100 fabulous costumes - and we both chose the same one!  With the same fabulous boas, fabulous beads, fabulous, fabulous, fabulous...

Lilly scored the bridal veil and pillow purse, though.  Good score, Princess Lilly!
Cinderella painted our nails.  I chose hot pink.
 Lilly chose sparkles!

Snow White did our hair in buns - like Cinderella is SUPPOSED to have but as noted by Lilly, she did not.  She had a pony (WTF?)

Mama improvised a crown for Anna by jacking up some piece of tinsel into a tiara.  Inventive, Mommy.
Here we are rocking our Princess looks on the catwalk.
Getting our makeup done by Cinderella (if you can even call her that, what with her half-assed ponytail and not a BUN!)
 Gettin some gloss...
Rocking the catwalk again, because we can...
 Work it, girl!
After clothes, hair, nails, makeup - tea time!  With real china!  (BRAVE!)
 Note the pinky!

 Mmmmm cookie...
 Cookie...
 Cookie...
 Cookie!

Thanks for spending our Princess Day with us Grandma and Babi!  We love you!  XOXOXOXO
 Love,
Lilly and Anna
