Happy Half Birthday!

Man alive, when you have three kids doesn't every day feel like it's someone's birthday?  Yes, yes it does!  We celebrate baby's first half birthday with a cupcake!  As you can see here for Lilly's half birthday and not here because Mama was at the beach for Anna's first half birthday and missed it, but Daddy swears up and down he did indeed give her a half birthday cupcake.  Like most milestones for the middle child, we have no record of it (sorry Anna!  We'll pay you for therapy!)
So, Baby Boots gets his cupcake tonight!  Which will be a wonderful change from his current diet of bottles, bottles, bottles, oatmeal twice, a pickle, a cookie and some bread.  I hear sometimes that my Daddy is a Pediatrician which is HILARIOUS when you consider that his youngest hasn't started eating food yet.  Mommy kept saying she was waiting for Jack to sit up to eat food because otherwise it's just a messy pain in the ass to feed food to a baby who keeps face smacking his high chair tray.  Really, it really is.
So last night Jack thought he'd do Mommy a solid and start sitting up the day before his 6 month birthday!  Now there are no more excuses, we're going to actually have to feed the little bugger age appropriate food.  Waaaaah!!!  Three kids are SO MUCH WORK!  It's no JOKE, people! NOT for the faint of heart!
Speaking of joke, I (Lilly) ripped out a good one last night.  Once again we were discussing the upcoming nuptials of Miss Soon To Be Aunt Kimber and Uncle Mark.  We are less concerned about the wedding itself, more concerned about being flower girls.  It's our MOMENT!  Anyway, as we were talking Mommy started stuttering: "Miss Aunt, Aunt Kimber, Miss - when are we going to just start calling her Aunt Kimber?"
I said, "When she gets married, Mommy.  Then she will be Aunt Kimber."  Coming out of the mouth of a four year old, it was pretty funny!  We are really looking forward to that wedding Miss Still Soon To Be Aunt Kimber and Uncle Mark!

We had a pizza buffet (gourmet dining for 3-6 year olds)...
We had balloons!  What kid doesn't love balloons?!?
And face painting!  Aren't I gorgeous?
 Babi and Duda were there...
 And Miss Emily...
Miss Mackinsey (who's Mama said she taught her well - love the Cat paw!)
 And presents, presents, presents!!!

 AND I GOT A BIKE!!!  A BIKE!!!
No party is complete without a little whining though, right?
But the frosting on the cake of course was the GAMES!
And I hit the jackpot!  1,000 tickets from the pirate game!  ONE THOUSAND TICKETS!!!

And what did I get?  This little pirate basketball!  And memories that'll last a few months - because I'm three!

Party Harty!

You've all been so patient, waiting for birthday party pictures, an update of any sort...and yet, Mama has been to busy to provide you any.  Right now as she sits in Panera with a painfully slow connection trying to do 30 other things at once she has admitted to herself that the birthday post will have to wait.  Meantime here are 3 teaser pictures to keep you going...

I will say, it was a PARTY!  And I was a BIG winner!!!  Mommy promises an update next week with LOTS of pictures!

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY ANNA BANANA BEAR!!!

Dear Anna,
THREE years old! ("No, I'm four...") NOPE!  You are actually, honestly, truly and really THREE years old! ("No, I'm four...)  Well girl, I brought you into this world I know how old you are! ("I'm four...")
What a rocket ride you are, Anna.  Of all three of my children there is no denying girl you are all mine.  From the minute you came into this world kicking, screaming and upside down right to this morning when you argued with me about your age - you are mine! (and Daddy's and Lilly's and Jack's...)  We love you so much.  You are the spice to Lilly's sugar, you are the "Anna-mal", you are the one I know will hit the road fastest and furthest when you throw your final cap into the air (and probably break my heart the most).  You are afraid of nothing, you'll try anything, you really make our lives more complete.  A(nna) force to be reckoned with, you both fascinate and terrify me at the same time.  No one's ever written a book about how to handle you and God, I love you for it.  All of this wrapped up in a cute, pretty THREE year old package.  Most Mommies would write little ditties that go like this: "You are so sweet and I just love you and how you cuddle and kiss us and blah blah blah" and while you are (well, you can be) and I do (how I do) those words don't even scratch the surface of how I feel about you, Anna.  You are an AMAZING little girl.  Do I worry about you?  Nope.  Do I worry about Lilly?  Nope.  Not with you as her sister.  Ain't no one gonna mess with Lilly because they'll have to go through Anna and ain't NO ONE gonna mess with you, little Sister.  In this life there are a lot of things you are going to teach me, there are a lot of things you already have.  I hope I can raise you to embrace your independence, your fierceness, as well as your sweet, nurturing and caring side.  I hope I can raise you to take the risks I know you want to take and to live fearlessly with no regrets.  As if you need ME to teach you that.  Just know Anna Banana Bear how much we love you, how much I love you and need you and how grateful I am that you are my girl.
I love you, love you, love you!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Love Forever and Ever and Always,
Mommy
xoxo

Happy Birthday Uncle Sean!

Happy Birthday Uncle Sean!  We hope you had a great day today, clinging for dear life to what's left of your dirty thirties.  The other day I told Mama I am three (I'm still not technically 3) and when Mama asked how old she was I said, "You are 38!"  I was quite proud of myself because 38 is a really big number to know!  Mommy said, "No, I'm not 38, I am 29..." and me and Lilly both laughed so hard we fell down on the floor!
Uncle Sean, you are so smart and fascinating and we can't wait to hear all your stories about traveling the world one day when you can tell us in Spanish and we will understand and then you can tell us jokes and stories about Daddy in Spanish that he can't understand and we will all have a good laugh.
For your birthday we are making a donation to Doctors Without Borders in your honor.
We love you, Uncle Sean!  Happy Birthday!
Love,
Lilly, Anna and Jack

GO CATS!!!!

We are having a little fun with the NCAA Men's Basketball tournament this year!  We are cheering for the WINNING TEAM (for once, it feels kind of weird...) and since "Kentucky is our world" as Lilly loves to say, we all say, "GO CATS!!!!"

 Even Jack says, "Go Cats!"

Alas, Daddy is so accustomed to cheering for the underdog, he insisted on cheering for the Cardinals.  Meh, they have been his source of income for the past 4 years.  Still, the rest of us say, "GO CATS!!!!"

Lilly, Anna and Jack
