Play Ball!

Anna and I like to kick the ball around the driveway with Daddy. I help Daddy help Anna kick (does that make sense? makes sense to me...) I love playing outside with Daddy even when it gets to be almost 100 degrees out. Whoooo, it's hot! But I love summer! I also get to stay up a whooooole lot later than I should. I am upstairs getting ready for bed right now and it's after 9:00! This doesn't necessarily mean I'll sleep in tomorrow but I've been sleeping in later than normal, too. This weekend I didn't wake up until 9:00 AM! Glory, glory hallelujah! It's making Mommy and Daddy lazy though, and for Daddy the party is over on Wednesday when he starts the NICU rotation and for Mommy the party is over next Monday when she goes back to work. Mommy is still in denial that she is going back to work in only a week, I kind of am, too. I'm going to miss hanging with Mommy all day but between you and me, I'm kind of looking forward to the break! I mean, it's really hard to converse with Mommy on my level. Sometimes it's nice to have other kids to talk to...you know, they "get" me and everything. Furthermore, I like to get dressed up for daycare. Makes me feel good, not so lazy. I don't know what to say about Anna, though. She might miss Mommy more than I will because she's not used to being away from her at all. But that's okay, I'll be with her, and I'll take good care of her.
Love,
Lilly

Brush Your Teeth!

Step 1: Climb on your stool so you can reach the sink all by yourself. Then get your toothbrush wet...

Step 2: Leave the water running so Mommy will get emails about why you shouldn't waste water while you're brushing your teeth and there are starving children in Africa, and how that is not a funny joke...

Step 3: Eat your toothpaste. That's really what I'm doing here, but it looks good in pictures, eh?

Step 4: Wonder if Mommy and Daddy will ever get around to remodeling this heinously ugly bathroom?

I've had some more cute firsts lately:
First Sentence = "I want more." (Naturally!)
My Name for Daddy = "Joe." (That's right, I refer to him by the same name Mommy does!)

And where's Anna? Mommy will post a video of her tomorrow. She's a little chatterbox! She talks a lot! She is chubby and sweet and cute, cute, cute!!

Lilly

Pigtails!

Finally! We can finally do something with my hair!
My friend Mackinsey is a little older than me and last week we were playing at her house in her bedroom and I came out with a fistful of ribbons and hair ties. Mackinsey's Mommy felt sorry for me that my own Mommy hadn't bought me any yet so she gave me a little baggie of my own hair ties and every day since I've insisted Mommy put pigtails in my hair. It's soooooo cute! So different, but I love them! I really do! My hair is very fine and stick straight so it's nice to do something with it besides my little bob which, also of course is cute. What's really fun is pigtails in motion as you can see in a couple of these pictures.
Another note, I understand here at lillybean123.com we are experiencing technical difficulties and that some of you are unable to comment. That explains the crickets, it's been so quiet on my blog! Mommy was worried until a couple people pointed out they have been unable to comment. Unfortunately Mommy has no idea how to fix this as she is able to do it from her own computer. Bummer. Keep trying though, we love to hear from you! Mommy prints out all these pages for me, our own version of a "baby book" if you will and all your comments get included so one day, when I am old and bored I will read through them all.
Thanks for visiting!
Love,
Lilly

This Schmutz For You...

I retired my high chair last week. I'm a big kid! I eat right at the glass table with Mommy and Daddy. Some advice though you haven't asked? Don't buy a glass table with a kid my age and younger. Toddlers + Glass just not a good idea. Mommy's friend Meredith actually told her this years ago and did Mommy listen? No. So guess who is in the market for a new table? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the glass table. I especially love banging my utensils on it and even better, the glasses I drink from. Glass on glass, baby! Bang, bang! Bang!
Side note, we did family garage sale day on Saturday. We are junk hounds now. But again, Mommy loves to share a good deal with the virtual world and she just can not resist. Remember how Mommy bought me UGGS at the last garage sale? GUESS WHAT?!? She found UGGS FOR ANNA this past Saturday for a dollar! Ridiculous! Now me, Mommy and Anna will all have matching Uggs this winter. How obnoxiously cute! I also got a big girl bike for $13 that is stashed away in the attic until I can use it, some toys, clothes, books, blocks, etc.
Okay, that is all. Mommy is once again behind on downloading pics. I will be staying home with Mommy the last 3 weeks of her maternity leave. I got a new Nanny. This one prefers Nanny to "Nanny-sitter" or "baby-sitter" because she "does not sit on babies." But she's not a true Nanny, we will go to her house every day. She's got 3 boys all my age and one little girl just 7 months. She's real hippie-dippie and cool so you know Mommy loved her. Hopefully she'll work out and we won't have to change again. Have a great week.

Happy Birthday Anna!

Happy Birthday Sweet, Beautiful Baby Girl!!!
Everything went well at our 2 month check up today! Anna weighs 11 lbs 11 oz which is almost a full 2 lbs more than I did when I was 2 months old (75%) and she is 23 1/2 inches long (85%)! She is already outgrowing some 3 month clothes!! She is so smiley and sweet and we just love her, love her, love her to pieces! She is growing so fast!!!
We went to the lake this past weekend and had an awesome, awesome time! I will post pictures tomorrow! Today is all about Anna Banana! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!!
Now, if only Mommy could lose that damn baby weight...stop eating those Rolo's Mommy! Stop drinking that sweet tea! Get your ass off the couch!
Love,
Lilly

My Mom is THAT Mom...

Observe these pictures carefully...do you notice anything? Besides how big Mommy's boobies are? (You just went back and looked, didn't you? Well let Mommy have her fun while she can, pretty soon when she is done with feeding Anna they will deflate like sad little balloons and shrink into oblivion). What else did you notice? Did you notice that we are at Churchill Downs? Good observation. Did you notice that Mommy had the audacity, the gall to dress us girls all alike!?! MOMMY! I am an individual with my own identity! I don't want to dress like you and Anna! Mommy went and did it anyway, we are like the Bobsey twins me and Anna and Mommy is like our color-coordinated cousin. The horror! The horror! Next thing you know she will make Daddy wear the same outfit as her when we go to Kings Island and the outfit will be cutoff jean shorts and tank tops! I might go lose myself in the park if that happens!

Lilly

Mommy Sold Out...

Mommy and Daddy couldn't take it anymore...they broke down and bought...an SUV. A Honda Pilot to be precise. A 2009 EX-L with Rear Entertainment System and 4WD to be even more precise. Now, if you know Mommy, you know the irony in this. Ms "I'mnevergoingtoownastupidgashogSUVthosethingsaresoobnoxious." Own one we do (We still have the Subaru and with Mommy and Daddy's baby making record there might be more someday and if or when there are we aren't going to ALL fit in that Subaru - we will need - dun, dun, dun - A MINIVAN! Daddy just couldn't do it. JUST couldn't do it.) You may be interested to hear that Daddy thinks he got a second look from a Hot Mom driving in the new Pilot. He would not get a second look driving a minivan.
Well we are taking our new SUV on our first family excursion this weekend to the lake with Daddy's family! It is a 5 hour trip - the horror! But fear not we sprung for the rear entertainment system (that's RES to those of us in the business) hopefully that will keep me occupied for oh, maybe 18 minutes or so...our alternative is children's Benadryl. What? Did Mommy really say that? Add that to the list of things we don't tell Daddy...
Which is getting harder now that I'm talking up a storm. Thankfully it's still single words (multi-syllable!) but its just a matter of time before I start telling Daddy what REALLY goes on when he's not around (SUUUURE Daddy, we bought all that stuff at a garage sale...mmmm-hmmm...)
Love,
Lilly

Apple Picking at Skytop
