Pumpkin Patch...A Continuation

Mommy realizes last week we went a little skinny on the blog. This is because I have been SO SICK for the past week. Have you heard of the Boogie Monster? I AM the Boogie Monster! I went to the Dr. 3 times this past week! They don't know what is wrong, they just keep saying "upper respiratory infection." Whatever you call it, it's the pits! Today is my first day back at Miss Norma's in almost a week! I miss my friends, and they all have coughs and boogies too. I guess it's the season for coughs and boogies.

Since we didn't have a lot to post Mommy wanted to put up some more pictures from the pumpkin patch. There was a petting zoo there, and a little pony just my size! I liked to stand next to the pony and touch her, but I did not - absolutely did NOT - want to ride her. Mommy lost a bet with Daddy because of this. You're welcome, Daddy.

Love,
Lilly

Get Ya Some Pumpkins!

We got to go to the pumpkin patch this weekend. Daddy told me I could pick out whatever pumpkin I wanted just so long as I could carry it myself.

Daddy, I would like THIS pumpkin, please.

Daddy gave me the okay, this is my pumpkin.

You may notice my cute little skirt? This is my Tennessee Titans cheerleading outfit. Oh, it is CUTE! Babi and Duda got it for me. In the KY Maurer household we're more college football fans. Mommy and Daddy discussed it this weekend, and we collectively decided we will become Tennessee Titans fans. Why? Why not? They are undefeated so unlike Mommy and Daddy's favorite college teams (Michigan and Notre Dame, respectively) they don't suck and it will be a nice change to cheer for a team that doesn't lose most or all of the time. It will also be a nice change to cheer for a team we can all mutually agree on. So, GO TITANS!

It's My Party and I'll Fuss, Whine, Moan and Cry If I Want To...

Last weekend Mommy and Daddy had a birthday party for me. Let's get something straight: I don't like new things, I don't like a crowd, and I don't like anyone outside of my Fab 5 trying to hold me (that Fab 5 being Mommy, Daddy, Miss Norma, Miss Marva and Teti). What did my party have? Lots of activity, lots of people and all of them wanting to hold me. Wah.
But it was not all that bad. Since the kitchen is being remodeled Mommy had to order me a cake. This is probably a good thing. My cake was rockin', as in rockin' Noah's Ark! I did not eat it though, I just took the toys off one by one. I like to organize things. I'm organizational. I get this from Mommy. I do not like cake. I do not get this from Mommy.
My new friends came, we did not interact much because most of my new friends are about my age and at 1 year old we're still a little anti-social. They brought me beautiful gifts though, gifts I did not open because I was not interested. Mommy however, was very interested and opened them for me. After they were opened, I quite enjoyed playing with them as you can see.
Overall it was not a bad party. I was just not in a party kind of mood. I definitely don't get that from Mommy or Daddy. But we all have our days. Nonetheless Mommy did get some cute pics which she has posted for your viewing pleasure.
Thank you to everyone who came to my party! I might not have shown it, but it was really special and it meant a lot to me and especially to Mommy and Daddy that you could all make it!

Lilly

Happy Birthday Lillian!

Dear Lilly,
Today is your first birthday! I could not be more excited! It was the best, most fascinating year of my life watching you grow and I'm so looking forward to all the next birthdays and hope you have many, many, many more of them. You are the biggest blessing Daddy and I could have ever received and every day we treasure with you. You are my little pumpkin, Daddy's little princess and the cutest, smartest, funniest baby we have ever known! You really are a gift, Lilly, and a blessing and I hope that throughout your life, now and forever, you know that there are no two people on this earth who love you more than your Mommy and Daddy do.
Happy Birthday precious girl!
Love,
Mommy

I'm a Budding Musical Genius...

Among other things, I thought I would showcase my musical talent for you. Here I am tickling the ivories on Babi's piano. This was great fun. I loved to move up and down the bench and bang away. I am creating my own musican genre, I like to call it the "Lilly Groove." If you really want to get into the Lilly groove, shed your pants and wear your diaper, bang away my little flock!

Lilly

I'm a Walkin'!

Mommy finally caught some of my first steps on video! Last night was so fun, for whatever reason I would take a few steps, fall down, go back and take some more! Finally! I'm working the camera! Check this video out here and Mommy posted a few more on YouTube! Damn the Cyber Idiots! We're back online suckers!

Go Fish!

This is my new friend, Alaina. Alaina came to my house and dumped her goldfish all over the floor.

I thought the nice thing to do would be to help her pick them up...

So I did and then I ate them. That is Alaina's Daddy with the cup, trying feverishly to pick them up off the floor before Mommy had a meltdown. But Mommy would not melt down over a few goldfish! We have a Dyson now, and me! And I love to pick things up off the floor and eat them. So when the floor gets real dirty Mommy lets me crawl around, put whatever I want in my mouth and then whatever I don't eat she vacuums. Ha ha. That's just a joke, she doesn't really do that. Not on purpose anyway!

A Big Weekend of Firsts!

Mommy got the camera battery back last week and not a moment too soon! I had a BIG weekend! This past Saturday Mommy couldn't take the crazy hair anymore so she took me to get it cut! I went to a salon that caters to high-demand, fussy clientele like myself (a salon just for babies and kids). This is because I move around so much Mommy is real afraid to come near my face with scissors so she let some stranger do it instead.

There was a little playground in the waiting area (made of plastic, and miniature, perfect for me!) and the salon chair was actually a rad purple Barbie jeep. Bitchin'. So I liked all that, however I did NOT like the actual haircut part. What can I say? I'm a diva. We did a straight across (I have bangs now, so cute) and cleaned up underneath. It's the perfect little pixie cut. If Mommy was a whack-job weirdo like Katie Holmes she'd go out and get her haircut to match mine! Then she and Daddy would wear matching clothes and talk to the world about how stupid Psychiatrists are and how aliens are the answer to our world financial problems right now. Or something like that.

Anyway enough about Hollywood weirdos. I have more news!

On Saturday, the same day as my first haircut I took my FIRST STEPS and cut my first upper tooth! I took a few little baby steps all by myself yesterday, too. Of course as soon as the camera came out I stopped. But we got some pictures of me walking with a little help from Daddy.

I hope you all have a great week and we'll see you soon!

Love,

Lilly
