Temper Tantrum Jack

This is from a little while ago, but who doesn't love a good old fashioned throw down temper tantrum?

That's a Darn!

When things go wrong I like to say "that's a darn!" Like this outfit, that's a darn!
Or the fact Jack has no pants on? That's a darn! Toby pooped on the playroom rug (the ONLY FRIGGING RUG IN THE HOUSE!?) that's a darn! It hasn't stopped raining for more than 48 hours in 11 weeks?!?  That's a darn! This Summer has been the PITS and that's a darn!

The Roof! The Roof! The Roof is On!

The roof is not on fire! It is on The Bomb shelter and WE are almost ready to paint the sucker!!
That's Manny's Daddy Mr. Tommy helping our Daddy put the finishing touches on what is going to be the World's Most Awesomest Playhouse EVA!

Soda Shop

Does Daddy get points for carrying Big Dog to the Soda Shop in a backpack because I insisted he go with us yet he is too big for me to carry while I ride my scooter?
Is there anything better on a hot Carolina day than a cold peanut butter milk shake from your friendly neighborhood fountain?
Does Daddy get extra points for carrying Toby home because the hill was "too much" for him?  Did we mention the Soda Shop is less than a quarter mile away?  And Toby refused to walk back home?  Sissy doggy.  So much for our fierce guardian!

Gaffney Peach Festival

This ain't no strawberry festival! I've never been so glad to have all my teeth!
Daddy grew up in a smallish town in Ohio that has the biggest, best, tastiest strawberry festival anywhere. Mommy went to jr high and high school in said town but she did not grow up there. A point of contention to this day.  Anyway the strawberry festival rocks. The peach festival does not. Regardless we are little kids and we don't know any different and they had rides and snow cones and friendly rednecks and we had fun.

Toby Update

Three months old, has doubled in size since we got him six weeks ago, gets on all our nerves, pees on the playroom rug, nips at Anna Jane and Jack, chews Big Dog, doesn't bark when people come to the house (at all), can't stop barking at the cat but we all love, love, love him anyway. Happy sorta three month birthday, Tobes!

Refinish

Mommy got a wild hair to refinish this table she found in the basement when we moved in the house last year. Turns out its the perfect size to sit next to our leather love seat. We decided to help her. We'll post pictures when it's all done!

What Rhymes With...?

Mommy and Daddy are helping me learn how to read! In fact all my friends are helping me learn! I do so good but I'm a little lazy. I don't like to be put on the spot. I think this is a M----- thing specifically, and I take after my Daddy. Did you know my Mommy could read and write when she was three? Three! She's been a genius her whole life. She doesn't even use spell check. And her grammar is always proper. Like, always. And forget about improper punctuation and, stuff. Oh and she never uses incomplete sentences. Like never. Are you singing Taylor Swift yet? Wheeee! I digress.
So I'm learning how to read! Tonight Daddy was working "Hop on Pop" with me. I got a little stuck on "all." I know "fall" and I know "tall" but you lose me when you drop the first letter. (Incidentally you don't lose Anna Jane because she kept saying, "it's ALL, Lilly!") but I get lazy, and easily distracted (like Mommy does all the time shamma lamma ding dong) so I just can't get ALL!
Daddy, "lets name some words that rhyme with fall"
Anna Jane, "ball, call, hall..."
Yes! And how about wall, mall, tall?
Very good! Lilly? Let's take away the first letter and what word do we get?
"Dick."
What? Did I JUST say that?!
Sure did! Thanks for the Dick and Jane book, Babi! Made for a blog-worthy laugh!
Love,
Lilly, Anna Jane and Jack

Progress and Other Stuff

If it would ever stop raining here Daddy might could make could make some progress on the Bomb shelter. But he DOES have the roof framed (right term? Dunno but as you can see from the picture he did something to the roof?)
Mommy meanwhile has been tending to our garden. Peppers? Fail. Basil? One for two. Chard? Coming along. Tomatoes? Too soon to tell. Zucchini? BAM. nailed it. We have zucchini coming out our ears so Mommy is trying to find creative new ways to feed it to us without our knowledge. Like smoothies? Blech. She's got Jack fooled but that's about it.

Apple Picking at Skytop

Apple picking at Skytop has got to be one of my most favorite Fall family traditions.  It is so beautiful, it is so fun, and apples for w...
