Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm going to be a BIG SISTER to a LITTLE SISTER!
I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving. I am thankful for not having to share my stuff yet. Next year I will be thankful I will have a little sister I can blame everything on.
I will be back next week!

Nature Girl

Hey folks! Did ya miss me? I missed you all! I've been soooo busy! I am walking everywhere now, singing songs, using words like "cookie" and "get out of my face, Mom." Okay, I'm not speaking in sentences yet but I communicate by throwing things like my pacifier and little baby temper tantrums. I have got Mommy and Daddy well trained!
Not much has been going on this month, otherwise. Mommy has been real busy at work and Daddy was on vacation for the first two weeks of November. It was a glorious two weeks. He got me ready, he fed me in the morning, he let me get messy and then he would scoot me all around the house in my moving box, which is my latest favorite toy. We even went on a nature hike together and I threw rocks in the creek. I am such a Daddy's girl. I am going to miss him now that he has to go back to work!

I hope everyone is getting ready for the holidays! Santa has already dropped a couple big presents off at my house. They are in the basement storage room waiting for Christmas day. Mommy loves to Christmas shop! She loves the crowds, the traffic, the hassle, the stupid deals! I can't wait to help Mommy Christmas shop by contributing a temper tantrum in the store to the holiday spirit! It wouldn't be holiday shopping without a screaming baby! Ha ha ha, Mommy!

Lilly

Day at the Races!

Mommy grew up going to the racetrack with Babi and Papa. Every summer they would take her and my Uncle Dan, and they would get to make $2 bets on a few races. Babi and Papa taught them the fine art of choosing winners: go with your gut, pick the horse with the cutest name or the one most like yours, and always bet on gray. That advice paid off for Mommy on Saturday when she won $58.60 for an exacta: one horse who's name she liked, and a long-shot gray.

We took my Maurer family to the racetrack. We all had fun. There were no big losers except for Uncle Matt but he's a big winner at the casinos so we don't feel too sorry for him. He needed to get in some good practice before he comes back out in May for the Derby. He needs some more. Uncle Matt, Turfway opens for racing in December. Practice, practice, practice!

I helped Mommy pick a few winners, but Mommy got greedy and kept betting exactas. So she would have 1 winner and 1 loser, and this ain't horse shoes people! We went home with $40 of the $58.60 we won, and I got $20 for my piggy bank, for helping Mommy out. Grampa was the other big winner of the day, he won lots of his bets. After the races he and Grammy treated us to pizza, the gourmet kind! Winning is fun!

We have been enjoying beautiful weather here in lovely Kentucky. Saturday was no exception. We sat inside so I could run around and impress perfect strangers with my cuteness. But the best part of the day was when we would all go out on the balcony and cheer for our horses. I am excited to grow up at the races, just like Mommy.

Lilly

Halloween Bust!

Halloween 2008 was a bust for me. I have been sick for 2 weeks now, and I wasn't feeling any better on Friday. I fell asleep at 7:00! Right when Trick or Treating started! Lucky for me I didn't even know that Mommy and Daddy LOST my costume! What kind of parents LOSE their child's costume?! Mine! Mine do! They are lucky I am not 2 or 3 or 4 years old and lost my costume. Can you imagine? The horror! And I'm not talking Halloween horror! I am talking mortified in front of all my friends horror when they are all dressed up like cute little farm animals and Mommy wraps me up in toilet paper and calls me a Mummy!

In the spirit of Halloween however we did actually carve pumpkins. At least Mommy and Daddy did something right. I enjoyed pumpkin carving. I quite enjoyed putting things inside the pumpkins once they were hollowed out for me. I also enjoyed putting my face in them.

So I hope you enjoy the pictures! We did lots of fun stuff this weekend so check back often, except don't check back tomorrow. Mommy is going to be very busy waiting in line to vote, and I hope you all vote, too!

Lilly
