Poopy In Training

Right now, I am upstairs yelling, "Mommy, I pooped! Mommy! I POOPED!" for the 472nd time tonight and now Mommy is ignoring me. I have this new trick, see, where I can force the tiniest little turd out into my diaper, and then I put it into the potty in my room, sit on my potty and yell, "I pooped!" until someone comes to congratulate me and I actually play this off as if I did it in the potty which means I expect a treat. Well, Mommy is on to me because I leave a trail of evidence. I am, after all, only almost 2 years old. I haven't figured out the poop stain on my diaper, the traces on my fingers, etc are all dead giveaways of my deceit. Kind of like when Mommy was a teenager, and she'd sneak out the window in the dining room but leave the screen on the ground and Babi and Duda knew all along what she was doing she thought she was soooo crafty, didn't she? Years later Duda would say to Mommy, "Why didn't you just walk out the door?" Mommy thought this wouldn't have been nearly as exciting as contorting herself through an 18" window 2 1/2 feet off of the ground - and 10 feet away from the door. Kind of like how leaving the poop in my diaper is not nearly as exciting as dumping it in the potty for accolades and treats.
What's that they say, Mommy, about what comes around?

Anna and Lilly

The Countdown is On...

The Countdown...to DISNEY WORLD!!! We are leaving April 20 and we are very excited, as you can imagine! Today we went to Target and got to buy our very own suitcases. As soon as we got home I filled them both up with clothes for me and Anna, hid them behind the rocking chair in the room to "save" them for when we're ready.
I said to Mama, "Are we going to be outside?"
"Yes, almost the whole time."
"Then we will need warm hats."
"Well, it will be really warm outside in Florida, we will need ballcaps for the sun but probably not that wool winter hat."
"No, Mommy, we need to be prepared."
Ah ha! Good thing Mommy and Daddy have me to help them get ready.
Then of course we get a lot of this:
"Is Tiana going to be there?"
Yes.
"Is Prince Naveen going to be there?"
Yes.
"What about Louis the Alligator?"
Good question?
"Mommy, how do you know he won't be there? You have to tell me! I need to know!!"
Mommy's on it, Lill, I promise.
So be prepared to hear a lot about Disney in the next several weeks. We are pretty darn excited.
Love,
Lilly and Anna

Forecast Says...

Cloudy with 90% chance of severe storms today, all day and tapering off into the evening.  Mommy should have been a weather man.   How does that saying go, you can be wrong 99.9% of the time and still keep your job or something?  Nah, she'll stick to eating cookies all day.

Heaven Is Far Away

Yesterday while we are swinging in the backyard, out of nowhere I say to Mommy:
"Mommy, why is everybody so sad Papa went to Heaven?"
Mommy said, "Because we miss Papa while he's in Heaven."
I said, "Oh, but I thought he was with your Babi in Heaven and he is happy?"
Mommy said, "He is Lilly, he is with my Babi and he is happy. But Mommy and a lot of the friends are going to miss him."
I said, "Mommy we can go visit him in Heaven?"
"Not for a long time little peanut, a very long time. Papa wants you to stay right where you are. He will wait for you."
Then I said, "Mommy, Heaven is sooo far away. That's why it's sad, but when I think of Papa, I just put his blanket on the bed."
And Mommy thinks, Wow, what beautiful, simple logic.
Mommy loves us, so much.

Papa, Papa

Dear Papa,
This is so hard. I can't believe you're gone. I miss you so much, and it hurts so bad. I've been thinking about what I can say about you as a tribute to you for all you did for me, but I just can't find the words. All I do is cry.
Lil Marie and Anna were so blessed to have been able to meet you, be held by you, be loved by you. I will keep your memory alive in them as I've tried to keep Babi's. I know how much you loved them, Papa, I know you thought about them every day and I hope you knew how much they love you, too. They sleep with your Indian orphan blankets and dream catchers every night, they play with your monkeys, they ask me about you.
Losing you was just not something any of us thought was going to happen. I know how that sounds, you were 86, but I took for granted that our days here are numbered. I so wish I would have called you that Sunday when I thought about it, I wish I would have gone up to Detroit at Christmas so you wouldn't have been alone, I so wish I wasn't waiting to see you again in April...I wish, I wish, I wish.
I will miss you every single day, Papa. I loved you so, so, so much and I am so lucky to have had someone in my life who loved me as much as you did. And there was no one else on this whole earth who loved me more, that I know. I will make sure Lil Marie and Anna know it, too.
I love you, Papa. Thank you for everything.
Love Forever and Ever,
Krissy

MEEEEOW! Taking One for the Team

http://thestir.cafemom.com/baby/116998/lesson_12_working_moms_vs

If any of my Mommy friends didn't see this article, take a second and read it, it's hilarious (thanks, Carrie!)  Mommy especially loves other women who share her wit and sense of humor about parenting.  Mommy would have a lot to add to this article, as I'm sure most Mommies would...it doesn't seem fair though that Mommies the world over fight over "proper" Mommy-ing.  My Mommy does it right for our family, and anyone who thinks otherwise can go suck it.  Anna's paci, that is...if she'll let you.
Love,
Lilly and Anna, proud, sick "daycare" kids being raised by someone else

Smells Like Spring Meet!

Mommy and Daddy haven't taken any new pictures in weeks. That's what happens when you're this busy, I guess - our little lives just fly by and when we look back on our lives and say, "Mommy, where are all the pictures from February, 2011?!" Mommy will just say, "Sorry, Toots, we only have about 25 from that month (as opposed to the hundreds we normally have) and we used most of them on the blog already."
But in the spirit of sharing, Mommy dug up some pictures from November (cough-cough) that she never did post and they were from Fall Meet, which got Mama to thinking that Spring Meet is just around the corner!
Down here, we like to get dressed up for our ponies. I overcompensated since Mommy wore BLUE JEANS to Churchill! Pshaw! I had to glam it up a bit...
Daddy took all of these pictures, so it's just us girls.
Behold, my beautiful outfit, my contrasting tights and red sparkle shoes, my matching purple bag. Such a fashionista in training. What you don't see in these pictures is that Boing has a matching dress, and wore it to the Meet with me.
And also, Anna's coordinating handbag.
We love being girls! We can't wait for the races, the beautiful Spring weather, the flowers, all of it!
Love,
Lilly and Anna
