Sing, Sing a Song!

We are celebrating a landmark!  250 posts!  That's a lotta bloggin' when you are 2 and 1 year old!  That's what we call "early adoption."  I hear rumors now that my other cousins have ventured into the virtual world but we have yet to see their blog.  Daddy said Matias is nekkid on the blog and that Tio Sean wrote all kinds of nonsense on it.  Sounds like Tio!
Since this is our 250th post, how about I do what I do and that is, sing a song about it?  Last night all I did was sing to Mommy.  I hardly spoke, I just sang.  Including the following:
(while swinging) "Swing, swing in the air.  High in the air.  Push Lilly high in the air.  Swing, swing, swing."
(while bathing) "Water, water, water.  Lilly is wet.  Anna is wet.  Let's get in water.  Let's take bathy in waaaaatttttteerrrrrr..."
(while getting ready for bed) "Nilk, nilk, nilk.  Lilly needs nilk to bed.  Nillllllkkkkk....nilllllllkkkkkky pleeeeease...."
(while laying down in bed) "Big bed, big bed, Lilly sleep with Mommy in big bed. Biggggggggg beddddddddddd!!!!!!!!!!"
Love,
Lilly (and Anna who is too little to sing but does a lot of this, "Ooooooooh.  Ooooooh.  Mammmmmmma...  Mammmmmmmmmmaaaaaaa)

Partners In Crime

We saw Mommy lose it tonight.  Why?  Well let me tell you...
Yesterday I wore panties all day - accident free.  Isn't that great?  Today, Mommy, overconfident as always, figured would be a second notch on the accident free board.  Well.  I.  Showed.  Her.
It all started on our walk.  I peed myself.  Why?  Because I can.  So I did.  Mommy told me I had to walk the rest of the way home I couldn't ride in the wagon with peepee pants.  (Relax folks, we were three houses away).  Even still, I did not like this too much.  So when I got home, I decided to take a dump on the couch.  Mommy was fixing dinner and something smelled off (which isn't that unusual when Mommy is cooking) but lo!  This had a familiar eau de poopoo.  So she comes into the living room and there I am, holding up my crap like a trophy.  I say, "Mama, look, I poopood."  Well, did I ever!  So Mommy marches me to the tub and meanwhile...
I decide to show my sister some solidarity.  Silly Mommy didn't bother to see if Lilly had left any other turds on the couch.  She did.  So I did what any 1 year old would do.  I ate it.  Then I went into the bathroom, covered in my sister's crap to show Mommy my accomplishment, dragging poop all along the floor and the carpet all the way!  So then I got to get in the tub, too!
Mommy kept saying, "Lilly I'm not happy right now.  Mommy is really upset."  I said, "Yeah!  Lilly pooped on the couch!  That makes Mommy want to cry!"  Mommy says, "Yes, Lilly, I am so upset I could just cry."  To which I replied (because I've heard it a million times) "Go ahead and cry Mama, let me know when you're all done."
Hope you're having fun in Myrtle Beach, Daddy!

Babes In Cars

At our recent birthday party for Anna we got to enjoy driving around the driveway in our cars.  Mommy said when she was little there was no such thing as cars for 2-year olds.  Based on what she usually says, I imagine childhood was a real drag for Mommy because they didn't have ANYTHING like we have today and they had to actually use their imaginations when they played.  BOR.ING.
Our friends, the L's, who live nearby gave us this adorable pink Jeep to play with.  Did you know that they make pink Escalades for kids?  They retail for quite a bit of money, just like real Escalades.  And just like real Escalades they are more of a status symbol than a safe vehicle.  The real Escalades don't fare well in Government safety crash ratings and it turns out, neither do toddler Escalades!  I'm not sure if toddler Jeeps have five-star crash ratings either but they are more rugged and more my speed than some uppity Escalade.  This is what Mommy tells me anyway...
The L's have their own toddler Jeep and it is a 2-seater.  I went on my first ride with a boy in this car and in case you can't tell, we had loads of fun.  We went on unpaved roads, 20 miles over the speed limit and came home 16 minutes after curfew.  After that I was lectured and grounded and Nathan's Daddy patted him on the back and said, "Nice work, son.  Just make sure you wear your seat belt!"
Cheers to spring and lots of good days for riding with the top down!

Lilly

It's MY Party and Well, You Know...

I know you've all been wondering where the pictures from my birthday party are.  There are just so many of them, I'm going to have to tell Mommy to upload them to a Picasa album for you all to look at.  Blogger changed the way you upload photos and it seems to take FOREVER now and it's driving Mommy NUTS!  So I thought I would post some highlights from my Bunny Birthday Party for you.
Here I am crying because Sissy took all my new toys away from me and hardly let me open any of my presents.  But it's okay, she gave me a hug.  That's her new thing: she takes something away from me and I cry (which I never used to but I do now) and then she hugs me and says, "I know, I know, I know, Anna, it's okay, I'm here." and then proceeds to take my toy away from me anyway.  You see what she's holding in her hand?  That's MY money.  MINE!
We had an Easter egg hunt in the backyard for my party.  That was pretty cool.  Mommy personalized all of our buckets with a marker.  Isn't she crafty?  A marker.  Well Mackinsey made Mommy's day when she got her bucket and ran around screaming, "It has my name on it!  It has my name on it!"  She didn't care that it was in marker and Mommy did it one night while she was watching TV.  Me, I didn't care at all, I can't read and I didn't quite grasp the concept of Easter egg hunt.  Next year!
This is a fun picture, because it looks like we are scoping out my loot when in fact Duda is scoping out what candy he is going to take from my bucket.  Hope you enjoyed your candy, Duda!  You won't get to do that again!  I'm on to you, Mister!
There are two reasons for the incredulous look on my face.  One, Mommy actually made that cupcake.  Made it, frosted it, and everything.  Remarkable.  Two, what the hee haw is on my head?  Is it a birthday hat?  Why, no, it isn't.  Why not?  Because it didn't occur to Mommy to buy a birthday hat, but she found these ears from last year and improvised.  We kinda sorta had an Easter theme for my birthday party so she decided to go with it and once again, 2nd child gets shafted.
This about sums up my party.  It was tiring.  It's tiring being the center of all that attention.  It's tiring having your shiny new toys taken away from you by your big sister.  But you know?  It sure is a lot of fun and I wouldn't trade my awesome family and friends for nothin!  Not even the Reese's Peanut Butter egg Duda took out of my bucket!
Love,
Anna

Happy Birthday Sweet Anna Jane!

Oh, my Anna, my sweet Anna Jane, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  It was just about this exact time one year ago you made your grand entrance into the world (it was a Thursday, and just like your big sister, you took your time!)  I didn't know what to expect with you when you got here, I thought I knew it all from the first time around, but you showed me different.  You made our world even better, brighter and happier than it was before.  Every step of the way you seem to say to me, "It's okay, Mommy, we can do this."   Everyone told me how hard things were going to be, how difficult it would be to manage two babies so close in age and you proved EVERYONE wrong!  You are just the perfect little blessing, the sweetest little baby and I never would have dreamed to even ask for that.  You are the perfect combination of sugar and spice (you don't fool me, you've got some sass in that little noggin of yours!)  You just emit love, love, love.  You made me a better person just by being here and I adore you, Anna.  Everyone who knows you does, too.  You just can't help yourself!
What a wonderful year we have had with you.  I love you so very, very, very much.
Happy Birthday Anna!!
Love,
Mommy

Good Friday!

Were you hoping for cute posey pictures of us in our Easter dresses?  Well then prepare to be disappointed (though if you are reading this blog you probably know by now this is just not possible, as much as Mommy would love her little girls to be all girly-girl and cutesy-cute and sit and pose pretty those opportunities come by rarely and when they do we are usually nekkid or something...)
Here I am getting ready to get in the car to go see the Easter bunny!  (On Good Friday!  Two days before Easter...it's an Easter miracle that Mommy even remembered to do this at all.)
Hey look!  I'm actually smiling (and in the process of running away from Daddy so I don't have to get in the car...)
Ha ha, Lilly, I will sit and pose pretty.  You see Lilly's dress in the corner there?  No amount of M&M's, no promise of TV in the car, NOTHING was going to get Lilly to sit down next to me to take even one single picture...that is fine.  I am perfectly adorable all by myself!
Aren't these bunny ears cute?  This was my present from the Easter bunny.  After the Easter bunny we went to Friday night service at the church.  Mommy and Daddy believe that Easter and Christmas are special enough occasions that we get to sit with them during church service, and not have to go to Sunday school.  Every Sunday when we are leaving for church I say, "Lilly don't want to go to Sunday school!  Lilly want to go to church with Mommy and Daddy!" and every Sunday Mommy and Daddy tell me how boring church is and how much fun Sunday school is.
In church, I get to sing and dance in the aisles and Anna gets to crawl around and play and this is GREAT fun (see the little old lady behind me just doting on how cute I am?  man, I love attention!)
Here I am praying.  I love to pray.  We pray at dinner and I say my prayers at bedtime, about half a dozen times.  I "God bless" everyone I've ever met in my life.  The more people I "God bless" the longer I get to stay up!
About halfway through the third song, Mommy and Daddy started to think this might not have been the best idea.  I refused to sit my little goozitsa still, and believe it or not, church was PACKED on a Friday night!  Absolutely full!  It was about this time we started getting mean looks like, "What are these kids doing here?"  Well, Jesus wouldn't be bothered that we were there, now would he?  NO!  So stick that in your sippy cup and suck it, people.  I'm going to crawl around all over everything...and away from Mommy and Daddy!
Ha ha, you can't catch me....
After the third song, the whole sanctuary got real dark and they started to play a video.  Now, everyone knows that Easter involves Jesus dying on the cross, right?  Not real hap-hap-happy that part.  Sissy started to get real scared, and she cried.  Loudly.  Then she screamed, "Lilly want to go to Sunday school!  Lilly want to go to Sunday school!"  Ah ha!  The Sunday fight is over!  From now on Mommy and Daddy will tell Lilly that church is scary - not boring - and Sunday school is FUN!  And Lilly will be glad to go!
Unfortunately for everyone sitting around us, Sunday school was full by this time.  Lilly ran in like a crazy child and then they couldn't find her so they had to let her stay.  Me?  I got to stay with Mommy and Daddy and JESUS.
Happy Easter!
Love,
Anna and Lilly

Look at Our Pretty Sweaters!

Babi made us these pretty sweaters!  We have only worn them a couple times, once to church and once to pictures because Mommy is afraid we are going to destroy them.  But then, what's the point of having pretty sweaters if you don't wear them, right?  I guess they're nice to look at.  So, here are your pictures Babi!  Thanks for the beautiful sweaters!!
Hugs for my Sissy!

If You Build It They Will Come...

Happy Easter!  We have got a whole mess of pictures to get up this week but since we hadn't posted any of these yet we thought we'd start with this: the building of our new, fancy-pants playset.  This playset ROCKS and we had the inaugural party for it this weekend in honor of Anna's first birthday which is coming up THIS Friday!
Of course I helped Daddy build it every step of the way.  From getting him the correct tools...
To pointing out his mistakes!
We sure had a lot of fun building it but we're going to have a lot more fun playing on it, and playing and playing, and playing....

We even got some of our favorite friends over to help with the building.  Here you see Mr. Brian, Tucker, Mackinsey, Boing...

Oh, there's Anna, too...

And finally, just a super cute picture of friends.

Lilly and Anna
